Question about CBD

Will taking CBD help with my ailments?

Unfortunately, we cannot give out advice on using CBD oil for anything medical related. We sell our CBD products as food supplements and it is always important to do your own thorough research-depending on what you are using CBD for, before trying it out.

Almost everyone can use CBD! The only people we recommend not using CBD are pregnant and breast-feeding women. If you are on any medication, we would always recommend talking to a medical professional before trying CBD. It could be a great addition to your other food supplements.

Will I get high from taking CBD?

People often believe that because CBD is associated with the cannabis plant, that if they take it will make them “stoned” like smoking cannabis does! This is incorrect, CBD is simply a non-intoxicating component which has enormous potential. Your state of mind etc. will not change if you take CBD at all. Although it can make changes in the body- this is not one of them.

Is it legal in the UK and Ireland?

CBD is legal, granted CBD products are within all the legal guidelines set in place by law. Unlike THC, CBD is not considered a controlled substance in the UK. Reputable retailers (including us) and manufacturers of CBD products will have measures in place to make sure these guidelines are met, and your products are safe and legal.

Will I fail a drugs test if I use CBD products?

When it comes to cannabis, drugs tests pick up THC (the compound that does make you high).  Drugs test are carried out because THC is known for the feelings of euphoria it provides and this is the illegal part! CBD products are sold with much lower levels of THC (less than 0.2%) so consumers should not have a problem passing a drug test, but it is not impossible. Individuals who take unusually large doses of full spectrum CBD could theoretically fail a drugs test.

Is CBD addictive?

Just because the cannabis plant can be known for recreational use that does not mean that it automatically makes it addictive. It is true however that you can become addicted to cannabis but what about CBD, which is made from the other cannabis plant which is hemp. A report last year by the World Health Organization declared that CBD is non-addictive, writing, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential” and that “CBD is well-tolerated and safe for human consumption.”

Can I take CBD with other meds?

When it comes to taking CBD with medication, we only ever advise one thing; always check with a medical professional before using it as it can, on occasion, interact with other medicines. Always stick to the recommended dose too and if you are taking other meds keep a two-hour window between taking CBD and whatever else you take.

Can children take CBD?

CBD is non-psychoactive so your child will categorically not get high from using it.

The 2 big contributing factors when taking CBD is body mass and body’s previous exposure to cannabinoids. Please take this into consideration. If you are unsure about dosage/products, get in touch with us and one of our friendly customer service team will be able to offer advice.

How can I take CBD without having to taste the oil?

It’s available in many forms, and all the different means of consumption, making CBD a very versatile product. The best methods will depend on the person but always remember to start with the recommended serving size, then increase from there.

Here at Natures Alternative, we have a method of ingestion to suit everyone. The sublingual route of taking CBD is probably the same as the oral route (capsules) with regards to easiness, simplicity, and comfort. If you are not familiar with the term ‘sublingual’ it basically means ‘absorption under the tongue’. This is how you use our CBD oil and full extract paste!

You can take our capsules, vape our products, apply CBD to your skin via our balms/creams or go down the tasty route of our extensive range of delicious CBD gummies and drinks.

Is CBD suitable for pets?

As Per the veterinary Medicines directorate (VMD) guidelines, we are not allowed to comment if CBD is suitable for pets.

How much do I need daily?

Each person’s endocannabinoid system works differently and reacts differently with each person body. There is no straight, solid scientific information that states how much CBD you should be taking at any one time, always start off with a small dose and work your way up. Height and weight play a part as well as the quality of the CBD oil. If you are bigger or taller than the average person you may need more and vice versa. Also, if you have smoked cannabis in the past you may feel like you need more. Either way we advise you do not go over the daily dosage recommendation.
